Arts Council funded UKYA approached us to produce a new website that could be a viable platform for emerging UK artistic talents.
The platform needed to cohesively bind their programme of international events, artist portfolio and paid member sign ups. We realised the best approach, where the art is the focus, is to not let the (over) design of a website over power the artists work itself.
Don’t let the website shout louder than the work contained within. This was definitely a case of making sure function won over form. The key for design was in the detail, so not to make the site so visually hollow it had no personality but keep it neutral with little discoverable flourishes.
